This includes; leading the charge in selecting Golf Course Architect Jeff Mingay, planning and overseeing the implementation of the Master Plan. The golf course has seen many advancements over the past 5 seasons with Bill at the helm; from new tee decks, bunkers, development of a tree management plan, green site evaluations, and of course the in-house construction and redesign of the 15th hole.
With Bill’s unique background in Golf Course Management he is no stranger to working at private clubs with extensive history and tradition like Cutten Fields while under going change. In his previous roles Bill gained valuable experience and knowledge of construction principles, and various grow-in methods including the renovation at The Toronto Golf Club, the development of The Georgian Bay Club, and an internship at Baltusrol Golf Club as they prepared for the PGA Championship. Bill is a graduate of both the University of Guelph and Penn State Golf Course Turfgrass Management Program. These experiences and others have given Bill the tools to guide Cutten Fields into this new phase in our clubs rich history.
Presently, Bill’s time has been focused on the redesign of holes 13 & 16 while coordinating the upcoming course renovation project to begin in the fall of 2020. Work is well underway and a good portion of earth moving was completed on hole 13 and 16 last fall. It is beginning to look and feel like a golf hole, and will be a huge improvement to the golf experience at Cutten Fields.
